A NEW guide encouraging people to explore Bridgwater’s rich heritage will be launched this month.
The 36-page Town Trails Guide has been produced by a team of young Bridgwater Civic Society volunteers, under the guidance of Dr Peter Cattermole.
It includes photographs from Blake Museum and three trails, supported by a map showing the civic society’s blue plaque locations.
The trails are split into medieval, 1200-1600, early modern, 1600-1800, and Victorian and 20th century.
Civic society president Derek Gibson thanked Bridgwater Town Council for sponsoring the guide. He said: “I feel both privileged and proud to be able to commend this new publication and to congratulate the young members of our local community who have been actively involved in its production.”
The guide will be launched by Bridgwater Mayor Ken Richards at Blake Museum, at 11.30am on March 27.
Copies, priced £2.50, will be available from the museum shop on the day, or from the town hall.
