Man seriously injured in A39 smash

A MAN in his 60s was seriously injured in a two-car crash in Shapwick earlier today.
A white Transit van was involved in a collision with a silver Peugeot 308 on the A39 at the junction with Norman Lane at about 12.20pm.
The driver of the van was taken to Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton with serious head injuries while two others were treated for shock.
Police say the van veered off the road into a hedge after it collided with the car.
The road was partially blocked and traffic is currently moving slowly through the area.
