DEAR Zoo is being brought to life for the first time this year with a new stage production.

The book which has delighted generations of young readers since it was first published in 1982 has sold more than 8 million copies worldwide, will be at Weston Super Mare, The Playhouse on May 19 at 1pm and 3.30pm and May 20 at 11am and 2pm.

Dear Zoo which is published by Macmillan Children’s Books, tis he story of a child who writes to the zoo asking them to send a pet, continues to delight each new generation of children as they lift the flaps in search of the perfect animal.

Written by Rod Campbell, produced by Norwell Lapley Productions and directed by Michael Gattrell, this production is suitable for children aged 2 – 6 years.

Brought to life through childengaging puppets, original music and lots of audience interaction, it will appeal to families and children who already love the book and will serve as an introduction to those coming to the story for the first time.
