A 40-year-old man from Burnham who went missing nearly two weeks ago is still being hunted by police.

Dean Tate was last seen in TA8 Bistro on Pier Street, Burnham-on-Sea at around 2am on Saturday, February 24.

Specialist police search advisors are coordinating efforts to find Dean with partner agencies assisting in both land and water searches.

Detective Inspector Richard Horsfall said: “We are doing everything we can to find Dean and are keeping his partner and family updated fully informed with our progress.

“I know they are extremely grateful for all the support shown by members of the public and have taken great comfort in the affection in which Dean is clearly held."

Bridgwater Mercury:

Colleagues from Avon and Somerset Search and Rescue, Her Majesty’s Coastguard, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, Avon Fire and Rescue and Devon and Cornwall Police have supported our inquiry.

Numerous police resources, including the helicopter and specialist search dogs have also been called upon as detectives continue to examine CCTV footage and review witness statements.

D/Insp Horsfall added: "I’d like to thank members of the public who have called in with information along with local businesses who have provided us with CCTV from the night of Friday, 23 February and of the early hours of the following morning.

"Without their help we would not have the lines of enquiry we do which we are actively following up.

“Local neighbourhood offices will be in the Pier Street/Marine Parade area of Burnham-on-Sea tonight and I’d encourage anyone who was out a fortnight ago, who hasn’t yet spoken to police, to approach them.”
