BRIDGWATER students are being taught how to write in Chinese by students and teachers from a Chinese link school.

The children and teachers from Ye Wah in China have been teaching students of Robert Blake Science College, and experiencing the English school culture during their visit.

The Chinese students have also been taking part in activities such as science, ICT and maths.

"Bushcraft was certainly a new experience for the Chinese students, which they thoroughly enjoyed despite the cold weather," head teacher Deb Loveridge explained.

"Here at Robert Blake Science College, we aim to aspire, achieve and celebrate with every student in the school and bring learning alive.

"This is a tremendous partnership between our two different cultures and is helping to make learning languages powerful and fun and our languages department is thriving."

The school, which was established in 1956, has 719 students between the ages of 11 and 16. For more information visit robertblake.org.uk.
