LUNCHTIMES would never be the same at St Joseph's Primary School in Bridgwater after the retirement of long-serving supervisor, Jeanne Rainey.

Mrs Rainey, who had overseen break times at the school for 14 years, was in the playground for last time in January 1998 and said she would miss 'hugs and cuddles, fun and mopping up the tears' of children.

She started at the school as a dinner lady the mother of two grown-up twin sons said she planned to spend her retirement indulging in her hobbies, including artwork and decorating and was given cards, books and flowers during her send off.
