THE funeral of Andre Rudkin who was found dead at a property in Taunton in November will be held in January. 

Mr Rudkin, 40, was found at a property in Upper High Street on Monday November 20.

A message was posted on social media by Monique Rudkin on December 27 and she asked funeral-goers to wear 'bright colours' for his funeral at Stretcholt Crematorium on January 12.

The post read: "Hi all, just to let you know Andre's funeral is on January 12 at 12pm at Stretcholt Crematorium followed by a burial at Quantock Road Cemetery then drinks in the Green Dragon. 

"All welcome, bright colours please."

Police are treating Mr Rudkin's death as suspicious and a 26-year-old man has been arrested and released under investigation in connection with the investigation.

Preliminary post mortem results showed Mr Rudkin had injuries consistent with an assault.

After his death, Mr Rudkin's family released an emotional statement saying they were 'truly heartbroken' by his death. 

The statement read: "We are truly heartbroken and devastated by Andre's tragic death, he had a heart of gold and will be missed greatly.

“If anyone has any information whatsoever please contact the police on the below numbers no matter how insignificant you think it may be. Thank you so much.”
