A MAN was treated for smoke inhalation after a fire completely destroyed a bedroom.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue engines from Bridgwater were called to Bradney Lane, Bawrip, at around 8.30pm last night (November 22).
The occupant called to report the fire, but the cause is unknown.
On arrival crews confirmed the fire was in the first-floor bedroom, but it was unknown if anyone was inside.
The fire was extinguished using two breathing apparatus wearers, 2 hose reel jets, a covering jet a safety jet and a thermal imaging camera.
The male occupant was treated for smoke inhalation by the firefighters after suffering from chest pains. He was given oxygen therapy until the ambulance arrived.
At around 10pm the fire was out.
The bedroom was 100 per cent damaged and the rest of the first floor was 30 per cent smoke damaged.
