DOZENS of pupils laughed their way to raising more than £3,000 for Children in Need.

St Mary’s Primary School held a ‘colour run’ for the national charity - and what fun children had.

Pupils raised sponsorship money for the event which saw them complete two laps of their field while jumping over tyres, running under colourful parachutes and dodging over obstacles - just as school staff threw powder paint over them.

Sarah Reagan, health and well-being lead at the school, said: “Basically we decided to do something different - we have never done a colour run before and we thought it would be a good idea.

"The response from the children was amazing and they went home buzzing. Some were laughing and giggling while they were running around and they were slowing down on purpose so they would get paint on them.”

The colour run event raised £2,782.91 and the non uniform day has raised a further £396.63.
“That is a huge result for us,” added Sarah.
