A TAKEAWAY giant could be opening a new store in Bridgwater if plans are approved.

Papa John’s has applied for planning permission from Sedgemoor District Council to build a new store at the former Paragon Laundry site on Taunton Road.

If approved, the pizza takeaway will be next to a new Co-op supermarket on the ground floor of the building.

Bridgwater Mercury:

The plans include designs for electric signs, window panels and the site layout.

It is not yet known how many jobs will be created if the store opens.

The American franchise already has a takeaway store in Taunton.

The former Paragon Laundry site will also house 14 flats and 22 other residential units as well as a car park.

Comments are welcome on the application until September 25 after which a decision will be made by Sedgemoor District Council.
