BRIDGWATER families have been heading to the Angel Place shopping centre this month to enjoy holiday-themed children’s activities at its Summer of Fun events.

The centre hosted free games, crafts and competitions each Monday, all themed around summer days out including the beach, garden and seaside.

Roger Smith, manager of the shopping centre, said: “Here at Angel Place, we love hosting family events and it was great to be able to bring summer fun to Bridgwater.

“We launched the summer of fun events by transforming the centre into a beach with surfboards, palm trees and sand buckets.

“Plus the little ones had the chance to make their very own seaside art to take home as well as enter a competition to draw and decorate the best sandcastle.

“We then transformed into a seaside arcade with a giant ferris wheel, bunting and circus skills workshops.

“The third summer of fun session took Bridgwater on an ice cream adventure with ice cream cone making and an interactive quiz to get the ice cream man through the maze on time.

“We finished the summer with a summer garden party featuring giant games of Jenga and and Connect 4 as well as storytelling with Angel Place’s Patty Party.

“We hope everyone had a brilliant time at Angel Place’s summer of fun and we already can’t wait for next years school holiday activities.”
