COULD you help brighten this terminally ill nine-year-old girl's day with a simple gesture?

Evie Doyle suffers from cerebral palsy and epilepsy, is on end of life care, but her mother says her eyes light up when she receives a postcard.

Having put a post on social media which was shared by a friend in America, Evie's mum Mykala, 31, said they had been overwhelmed to receive 60 postcards in such a short time.

"As Evie is on end of life care she is now bedridden, and it has been difficult to find things we can bring into the house to give her as high a quality of life as possible," Mykala said.

"Although she is non-verbal she has a beaming smile when she receives a postcard. We look at the pictures, read the messages and Google the places to find out more information.

"It is a lovely way for Evie to find out about places all over the world. We initially asked friends and family before opening it out via social media," Mykala said.

In the space of a few days Evie has already received around 60 postcards, from as far as the USA, Ibiza and Cyprus.

"It is something quite simple that brings a lot of joy," Mrs Doyle added.

Evie was born with cerebral palsy but her health complications worsened when she was a toddler. She has spent a lot of her life in Musgrove Park Hospital.

She is so ill that she can't even have cuddles with her mum as they could trigger a fit.

If you would like to send a postcard to Evie, the address is 34 Parkfield Close, North Petherton, Bridgwater, Somerset, England, TA6 6QY.
