A BURTLE youngster has raised £2,000 for the Beacon Centre at Musgrove Park Hospital.
Crispin School student Molly Lee, 12, started her fundraising with a charity haircut, donating her locks to the Little Princess Trust to make a wig for a poorly child with cancer.
Molly also wanted to raise money for the Beacon Centre to thank them for helping her father, Richard, who was treated for cancer last year.
Molly and her family travelled round the village of Burtle posting envelopes with little notes explaining what Molly was doing, and they were astounded by the response.
Mr Lee said: "The response totally blew our socks off, and Molly has been able to present the Beacon Centre with a cheque for £2,000 - not bad for a 12-year-old who just wanted a hair cut.
"We just want to thank all the kind family and friends who so generously gave a donation and for all the cards and messages of support."
