A MAN who fell down a bank was rescued from a ditch by emergency services.
He was rescued by firefighetrs using a stretcher after a 999 call to Southgate Avenue, Bridgwater, at 3.09pm today (Wednesday).
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "The fire service was requested to assist the police with a person who had fallen down a bank at the rear of Southgate Avenue, Bridgwater.
"Two pumps from Bridgwater and Taunton stations and the special rescue team from Bridgwater station were mobilised to assist, along with specialist officers.
"On arrival crews confirmed there was a male lying approximately 10 metres down a grass ditch.
"Crews liaised with police and ambulance personnel, and rescued the man using a stretcher. He was left in the care of ambulance personnel."
