A YOUNG girl in Bridgwater caused concern for police after a member of the public made a distress call.
Avon and Somerset Police officers were in the Mallard Way area of the town last night (July 13) after receiving a call from someone in the area who was concerned for a young girl.
Officers went house-to-house making enquiries about the girl.
A spokesman said: "We're pleased to say the young girl has been located and is safe and well with her parents, so it's a false alarm with good intent.
"Thanks to all the members of the public who helped with our house-to-house enquiries.
"We appreciate the support."
