HUNDREDS of people enjoyed perusing through the weird, wonderful and historic items on offer at Kilve’s annual Antique and Collectors Fair.

The fair, which is organised by St Mary’s Church, was held on Easter Monday in the gracious surroundings of Kilve Court.

The fair was originally started as a fundraiser for the church restoration but has become a big event on the village’s calender.

Once the restoration was completed four years ago, the Antique and Collectors Fair has become more of a village fundraiser.

As well as supporting the upkeep of the church the fair boosts the coffers of other organisations such as the village hall and the cricket team.
There were plenty of stalls for collectors and visitors to check out at the popular fair.

The fair will have whetted the appetite for many antique collectors in the area as they prepare to dust off their treasures for when BBC One’s Antiques Roadshow comes to West Somerset next month.

Fiona Bruce and her team will be filming edition of the ever-popular Sunday evening programme at Minehead Railway Station, exactly 40 years to the day of the very first recording of the show.
