A BRIDGWATER woman who was trying to help direct traffic after a motorcycle crash said she was nearly run over three times by impatient drivers.
Lisa Brown, 33, who lives on the Bower Estate in Bridgwater, saw the man lying in Bath Road as she headed to her daughter's school to deliver party invitations for her daughter’s birthday party.
She joined three other civilians who were helping the man after he had clipped the kerb and fallen from his motorcycle.
“I went over and assisted by directing traffic around the man until the ambulance arrived as he could easily have been run over.
However Mrs Brown was shocked at the treatment she received from road users as she tried to help the man.
“I was verbally abused by a number of drivers, three separate cars nearly ran me down while another drove head on into traffic.
“Fortunately the man is fine – he was lying on the floor with blood to his mouth but we knew that you are not supposed to take their helmets off."
Mrs Brown said the crash took place around 2.45pm and she was helping directing traffic for nearly 45 minutes.
"I reported to incident with the drivers details to the police who said they would log it in their records," she said.
A spokesman for the police confirmed officers attended the incident, and the biker suffered minor injuries.
