CHILDREN at St John and St Francis School took the plunge during a very special swimming lesson on Friday.
They took part in a relay at 1610 Trinity Leisure Centre alongside Greg Kyd, who was swimming a marathon 1,688 lengths of the pool for the charity MIND.
Julie Marshall, finance assistant at St John and St Francis said: "We set our children a challenge to swim as many lengths as possible in their 30 minute swim session.
"A very big well done to Mia, Oakley, Toby, Leo, Leon S, Thomas E, Cameron, Finley, Lucy, Jade, Nicole, Phoebe W, Phoebe M, Hollie and Harvey who swam a combined total of 64 lengths during their sessions, and also to Greg who completed his swim in 12 hours 17 minutes," she said.
"Fantastic determination, passion and perseverance shown by all, and a big thank you to 1610 for their support with our relay."
