AS the nights draw in and with the Somerset carnival season fast approaching, Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival Committee has teamed up with an award winning local company to improve the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and carnivalites.

The carnival committee, which is busy preparing for this year's Bridgwater Carnival on Saturday. November 5, has partnered up with Weston Super Mare based Fhoss Technology, who specialise with the manufacturing and supply of wearable personal protection safety wear.

As part of a sponsorship arrangement, Bridgwater Carnival Committee will be selling the Fhoss Fi Armbands at a significantly cheaper price than they can be bought on the high street stores.

The Fhoss Fi Armband has been developed to provide enhanced visibility in areas of low light and darkness. It has been designed with comfort in mind and has been made from lightweight nylon, and is suitable for adults, children and pets. The ‘one size fits all’ band simply wraps around the wrist, arm or ankle, and is perfect for all activities such as cycling, running, and even walking home from work or school.

Bill King, life member and director of Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival, said: “This is very much a unique sponsorship partnership we have agreed, and on behalf of everybody associated with Bridgwater Carnival, I would like to thank Fhoss Technology for their help and support.

Andrew Kimitri, Fhoss Technology’s chief executive officer, added: “We are delighted and feel privileged to be working in association with Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival Committee, as every year the carnival brings so much happiness and excitement to peoples’ lives.

“A new addition to our illuminated range this year has been the FI Armband. They have been a huge success for us so far and we are very proud to be able to promote them in conjunction with everybody associated with Bridgwater Carnival.

“We would like to take the opportunity to thank Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival Committee for allowing us to help keep everyone safer and we hope you enjoy using our products.”

The Fi Armband will be available to buy from the carnival centre, High Street, Bridgwater, at a cost of £5 each, or £4.50 if you buy 10 or more.
