A WOMAN who fell through the ceiling and landed on the staircase bannister has been treated by paramedics.

The woman is thought to have fallen around eight feet from the loft in her property on Turner Close, Bridgwater this afternoon.

Bridgwater firefighters were called to the scene at 4.40pm today (Friday, August 19) following a request from the ambulance service to help assist in making the loft and ceiling area safe.

A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said: "Paramedics were already in attendance at the time of the call and were tending to the lady.

"Shortly after arriving and liaising with paramedics, the crew assisted the casualty before making the area and electrics safe."

Duty of care was left with the paramedics.
