A NUMBER of birds were killed following an aviary fire in North Petherton.
Two fire engines from Bridgwater were sent to reports of a fire at a property on Crosswell Close at 8.40pm.
On arrival they found that a shed, which was being used as an aviary, was well alight.
Two breathing apparatus wearers and one hose reel jet were used but the shed was destroyed, and a number of birds died.
The cause of the fire was believed to be accidental.
