A BRAND new shop has been opened in Bridgwater.
No. 40 St Mary Street is a unique and quirky store which sells shabby and chic attractions, new and vintage wares, plus alterations and repairs.
The Mayor of Bridgwater, Councillor Alec Glassford, and the Mayoress, Councillor Liz Leavy, declared the shop officially open on July 16.
The store is a joint venture by four local women in the town, Sam Sweetland, Trish Jones, Pat Morley and Helen Thompson, who are excited about the new enterprise.
Helen Thompson, one of the group, said: "The shop is already attracting a great deal of interest in the town.
"There is a demand for interesting outlets in the town and we are offering fabrics, toys and haberdashery, vintage and designer clothes, collectable vintage homeware, books and artwork, plus competitively priced sewing services.
"Customers can be assured of a warm welcome to browse and check out our chic, cute and curious stock.
"Open from 10am to 5pm Tuesday to Friday, and 10am to 3pm on Saturdays, No. 40 is helping to make Bridgwater a destination for discerning shoppers, which is a long felt aspiration of Bridgwater traders and the Town Council."
