RESIDENTS will have another chance to give their views on Sedgemoor District Council's Local Plan in the coming weeks.

There will be a series of drop-in events in a number of areas across the district starting on June 27 for a period of six weeks.

The council has said this additional consultation will be focused on two main areas.

One is gaining further views on the options for residential developments on the land to the east of Bower Lane and Dunwear Lane in Bridgwater.

All site options in Bridgwater, including ones previously consulted upon, will also be considered to decide which will be included in the draft Local Plan.

The second area the consultation will focus on is refining the housing options for settlements suggested as 'tier 1' in the previous consultation document from October last year, where the council is looking to allocate development in Burnham-on-Sea, Highbridge, Cheddar and North Petherton.

A spokesman for Sedgemoor District Council said: "The additional consultation does not replace or cover all the issues discussed during the original stage 1 consultation from October 2015 to January 2016.

"Where residents have previously responded to the stage 1 consultation these comments still stand and will be taken into account."

To support the additional consultation, further public drop-in events have been organised for:

• Monday, June 27, 2pm-7pm at the Princess Theatre, Burnham-on-Sea

• Thursday, June 30, 2pm-7pm at Cheddar Village Hall, St Andrew’s Church House, Cheddar

• Monday, July 4, 3.15pm-7pm at St John and St Francis School, Bridgwater

• Wednesday, July 6, 2pm-7pm at the Community Hall, Highbridge

• Tuesday, July 12, 1.45pm-6.45pm at the Community Centre, North Petherton

The additional consultation document and information on how to respond will be available from June 27 via: www.sedgemoor.gov.uk/LocalPlan
