A LOCAL estate agent has continued its promotion for the second year running to help boost the funds of local carnival clubs.

Wilkie May and Tuckwood, based in St Mary Street, Bridgwater, has offered to pledge £100 for every house sold to the carnival club that the house seller is associated with.

Since the scheme was launched in May 2015, £700 has been raised for the town’s carnival clubs, with a further £900 aiming to be released over the next few months.

Malcolm Cattle, president for Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival Committee, said: "This creative partnership is another great example of how both the carnival and local businesses can work together for mutual benefit.

"On behalf of everybody associated with Bridgwater Carnival I would like to thank Wilkie May and Tuckwood for their generosity.

"Without the support and generosity of local businesses and organisations our carnival would not be as successful as it is, and this kind of contribution will ensure our 2016 carnival on Saturday November 5 is the best one ever."

Nick Hale, branch partner of Wilkie May and Tuckwood added: "We are very proud to support Bridgwater Carnival, and many local carnival clubs have already benefitted from our donations."
