RETIRED residents in Bridgwater can begin to look forward to a life of style, as apartments in a new development are about to go on sale.

McCarthy and Stone's Retirement Living developments in Blake Court, are to be released this month and local retirees and their families are invited to a launch event.

Held on June 29 at the Macmillan Theatre, potential purchasers will have the opportunity to find out more about what they can expect.

Visitors can find out about the apartments’ specifications and pricing, with a presentation scheduled for 11am.

Guests will also be able to enjoy a complimentary lunch, which will be provided from 12:30pm.

Currently under construction, Blake Court is a development of 36 one and two bedroom Retirement Living apartments, designed specifically for the over-60s.

Situated on the site of the old Bridgwater Police Station on Northgate, the development will welcome its first homeowners in winter 2016.

Debby Pavitt, regional sales and marketing director for McCarthy and Stone South West, said: "At McCarthy and Stone we are committed to helping older people stay independent for longer.

"Retirement Living offers the independence of retaining home ownership, while living in a secure, low maintenance and energy efficient apartment.

"What’s more, with the maintenance of all external and communal areas taken care of, homeowners can spend more time enjoying their retirement with family and friends.

"Blake Court, our new development in Bridgwater, is designed to ensure over 60s can enjoy a rich, rewarding and fulfilling life, and we’re inviting any potential purchasers to come down to our launch event to find out more.

"Interest levels are already extremely high, so we would encourage anyone keen to get a first look at what Blake Court has to offer, and find out more about the benefits of buying off plan, to book a place in advance."

When complete, Blake Court will have a homeowners’ lounge and a landscaped garden.

The development also has its own house manager, a security entrance system and 24-hour emergency call points.
