STAFF at Marie Curie would like to thank everyone from Bridgwater Fundraising Volunteers on behalf of all those needing Marie Curie help with end of life care.

In the last financial year, the people of the town have donated more than £20,000, which all goes to fund local Marie Curie nurses.

A spokesperson from the charity said: "Many thanks to all who have contributed in so any ways, from buying and selling daffodil pins and homemade craft items to enjoying home-made cake and tea.

"Thanks go to all you lovely local businesses who host Marie Curie collecting tins throughout the year or daffodil boxes in March.

"Other events included a Santa's Grotto hosted by Angel Place and the Bingo evening, which raised over £4 000 this year and is now an annual event.

"We are delighted to be included in the Julia McDonald Dance Company's charity concerts, netting us a whopping donation of £3,500.

"A heartfelt thank you to the Bridgwater community who have so generously funded Marie Curie's vital work of providing nursing and support care for those with a terminal illness."

The next event is the 2016 Blooming Great Tea Party at the EDF centre in Angel Place on June 10 and 11.
