TWO Bridgwater school boys have picked up sixteen table tennis awards in the past month.

Brothers Ted and Bertie Kelly won the trophies in various competitions, including county championships.

The boys mum, Jos Kelly, said: "The boys have had an incredible sporting month and between them have been awarded sixteen trophies for sporting achievement in table tennis.

"On top of this, Ted, who’s 14, also won a trophy for sports personality of the year at Haygrove school.

"Bertie who is 10, as well as playing for England in Guernsey and then winning bronze at the English Schools National Finals, both in April, has won nine individual trophies in May with another tournament still to come.

"In June, Bertie has qualified to compete in four events at the National Championships which this year are being held in Lancashire."

Bertie's trophies include Somerset County Championships U11 winner, Somerset County Championships U13 winner, Somerset County Championships U18 Doubles runner up, Burgess Hill 2* U11 Winner , Burgess Hill 2* U12 winner, Bridgwater and District League First Division winner, Bridgwater and District Junior Championships U11 winner, Bridgwater and District Junior Championships U13 winner and Bridgwater and District Junior Championships Doubles champion.

Ted’s awards include Bridgwater and District Junior Championships Doubles champion, Bridgwater and District Junior Championships U15 winner, Bridgwater and District Junior Championships U18 runner up, Somerset County Championships U15 runner up, Somerset County Championships U18 Doubles runner up, Bridgwater and District Adult League First Division winner and Haygrove Y10 Boy Sports Personality of the Year.

He was also part of the team who picked up Team Trophy along with P. Bovett and J. Webb for Bridgwater and District League First Division.
