Bridgwater Flower Club annual report by Carol Rennison

The club chairman welcomed members and visitors to our May 10 meeting.

After the notices were given out she introduced Coral Gardiner, giving those present a summary of Coral’s past endeavours including being one of the South West Area Team who were awarded a Gold medal at Chelsea 2015.

Coral’s title was Spring Palette.

The floral designs included various foliage and beautiful containers.

Flowers included Roses, Antirrhinum, Lilies, Carnations, Hyacinths, Camassia, Nigella, Ranuncula, Calla Lilies, Green Trick dianthus, Anthurium, Hydrangea Petiolaris, Tulips and a Green Orchid.

The containers used included two Rustic containers, driftwood on a base, a tin container and a four foot tall column.

After the vote of thanks was given the audience showed their appreciation of Coral’s work with enthusiastic applause.

Refreshments were then served which gave the members and visitors a chance to inspect the designs more closely.

Coral then drew the raffle tickets and the winners chose which design they wished to take home.

The next demonstration evening is on Tuesday June 14 commencing at 7.30pm, with doors open at 7pm at Westfield Church Hall.

We do hope as many of you will attend and look forward to seeing you.

If you are attending as a new person to our flower club evenings please speak to one of the committee or officers who, I am sure, will make you welcome.
