A SPECIALIST Rescue Team from Bridgwater helped to save a cow from a river this weekend.
The team faced a trip to Back River Drove in Glastonbury on Sunday at around 5pm.
The team joined firefighters from Street and Glastonbury after the cow got stuck in a slow flowing river with high banks.
Crews donned life jackets and used an inflation kit to stop the cow travelling further down the river, while the specialist resuce team from Bridgwater used mud paths to get better access to the cow before deploying the boat.
The cow was rescued and reunited with a grateful farmer.
