Since 2010 a debate has raged over the possibility of building a northern bypass for Bridgwater. At the time the road plan was rejected by EDF and the Government as too expensive and on the grounds it would take four years to build. Today almost everyone except EDF sees the folly of that decision with the recent closures of the M5 illustrating how crashes can lock up the roads – and cost the local economy a fortune. Is it not time to rethink the 2010 decision and for all interested parties to join as one to look at the idea again? Email your views to harry.mottram@nqsw.co.uk and we will forward them to the Town Development Forum tasked with getting the bypass back on the agenda.
