Bridgwater’s former Salmon Parade Hospital is set to be converted into a luxury 80-bed hotel. Speculation has been mounting the site had been sold by NHS Property Services when signs saying the site was under offer went up.
Following a series of persistent enquiries by the Mercury that Best Western Hotels have confirmed they are the company who plan to transform the rambling buildings on the river front.
In a statement they told the Mercury: “Plans are in discussion to convert this site to an 80-bedroom Best Western Hotel.”
It follows the news that another hotel is to built in Eastover meaning that within two or three years the area will be transformed.
