VISITORS to an event in Bridgwater can become wildlife explorers for the day.
The Autumn Bioblitz event, at The Meads Eco Park, runs from 1.30pm until 4.30pm on Thursday, October 8.
Visitors taking part will be helping with an attempt to record living species in the area alongside experts giving advice and guidance on what they find.
Meeting at the Westfield Street Café, in West Street, or at the site, people are urged to wear suitable clothing and footwear for the terrain and weather conditions.
“A Bioblitz is a period of ecological surveying in an attempt to record all living species within a designated area,” said a spokesman for the park.
“A group including Sedgemoor’s Ecologist, Friends of The Meads and volunteers will conduct an informal field study over the afternoon to identify as many plants, animals, fungi and other organisms as possible. You don’t need to be a wildlife expert – just come along with a willingness to learn and explore.”
