DO you sometimes wish you could go back to your school days?

Well you may have the chance to take on a very special school project as developers are being sought to convert the former Burrowbridge Primary School into residential accommodation.

The traditional nineteenth century property in the heart of the village consists of the original school house and the adjoining single storey school premises.

The former school has been brought onto the market with full planning permission for conversion into two houses.

The current permission allows for the school house to return to residential use as a two bedroom property, and for the conversion of the former school into a detached three bedroom bungalow.

Andrew Frost of the development consultancy and agency team at Colliers International in Bristol said: “The scheme offers a rare opportunity for development within this desirable area of Somerset, some five miles outside of Bridgwater, near the famous Burrow Mump and the River Parrett.”

The former Burrowbridge Primary CEVC School is situated in grounds of approximately 0.14 acres and the school buildings have a gross internal area of approximately 2,335 sq ft.

It escaped the 2013/2014 flooding and was used as a flood relief centre during this period.

The 19th century property is being offered for sale on behalf of the Diocese of Bath and Wells and local trustees.
