A PARTY in the park is taking place at Parkers Field in North Petherton.
The event is due to be held on September 12 and is raising money to create a junior play area and replace existing play equipment in the area.
It begins at 12pm but the official opening is at 2pm, with the afternoon being free of charge until 5pm.
There is also an evening party with four live bands and a bar which runs until 11:30pm, costing £10 a ticket.
Councillor for the area Marion Denham said: "It's going to be a celebration of getting all the villagers together.
"We want to raise money for new play equipment for the children in the area.
"There's going to be lots of stalls and we've had some money donated by EDF Energy. There's also another playing field that we need to start updating so we hope people get involved and support the local area."
To buy tickets for the event, call into Drive Force or Jane's Tea room on the high street, or phone Marion on 07974 104818.
