FROM April 2016, all dogs will be required by law to have a microchip and to help Bridgwater dog-owners, Sedgemoor District Council’s dog wardens are offering free micro-chipping.
The free microchips will be inserted during a pet morning at Bridgwater’s Countrywide Store in Wylds Road on Saturday, September 5, 10am-noon.
The usual cost is between £20 and £30. Booking is required so people need to ring the store on 01278-458055 to get a slot.
Micro-chipping is now recognised as the most effective and secure way of permanently identifying a dog.
