A BRIDGWATER man with dozens of previous convictions has admitted stealing alcohol from a Co-op store to help fund his habit of taking ‘legal highs’.
Sheldon Kenneth Riddle, of Old Taunton Road, was caught on CCTV walking out of the store with alcohol worth £222.95p in a rucksack.
Riddle appeared at Taunton Magistrates Court last Monday, August 10, when district judge David Taylor said he had a ‘depressing record’.
Riddle was given a six-week, tagged curfew, requiring him to stay indoors between 7pm and 7am.
He was also ordered to pay a total of £325. This was made up of a £180 court charge, £85 prosecution costs and a £60 victim surcharge.
