PARISHIONERS at St Michael’s Church in Puriton don’t need to worry about getting wet when they go for coffee in the Clist Church Hall thanks to a grant.
Viridor Credits gave them a grant towards the new roof, which was recently completed, along with a plaque to display in the hall.
It was presented at the Coffee Stop, held every Tuesday at 10.30am where people from the community meet their friends over hot drinks and cake. The donation from Viridor, along with several smaller donations enabled the work to be done.
One parishioner said: “Many groups use the hall, from Guides, to craft groups to children’s parties and it will be good that we can carry on in the warm and dry thanks to Viridor’s generosity in supporting the local community.”
