To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the National Cycle Network this year, a "Ride to the Sun" fun bike ride has been organised for Sunday July 19.
From two starting points, the Coal Orchard car park in Taunton and YMCA in Bridgwater, the 'Go explore with Sustrans' fun bike ride is along flat terrain and allows people to ride non-competitively and enjoy the scenery around them.
The bike ride follows the planets trail to the Sun mid-point at Maunsel Lock, which runs along National Cycle Network three, the ride is 14 miles in total.
There is a quiz sheet to be completed relating to the Space Walk along the ride and a small prize will be awarded to the winner.
There is picnic facilities on site and a stop at the cafe at lunchtime lets people have a deserved break after the ride.
