A PEDAL-POWERED showing of Disney’s Frozen proved a great success with young and old alike last week at a ‘Cycle Cinema’.

The unique screening took place at Bridgwater Town Hall with more than 220 devoted fans of the Disney film coming along to the energetic show – many even dressed as their favourite characters.

The film was shown as part of The Bridgwater Way Project, an initiative funded by the Department for Transport aimed at transforming travel around the town, making it easier and safer to walk and cycle.

Audience members took turns powering the sing-along screening of the film on bikes provided by Electric Pedals. Cllr Harvey Siggs, Member for Highways and Transport, said: “This was a really innovative way of showing people how much fun cycling can be and I hope everyone makes it their New Year’s Resolution to walk and cycle more and really enjoy the Bridgwater Way initiative.”

The event also featured a competition with the winner taking home a copy of the film on DVD.

The screening of Frozen is the penultimate event in a series of fun and free activities that has included everything from Hallowe’en Walks to festivals and bike rides.

The last event of the project is Neon themed Cycling and Walking event planned for March of next year.
