A TALENTED singersongwriter has come up with a Christmas anthem to raise money for charity.

Chilton Trinity School student Alissa Newman has written ‘The Voice of Winter’ which is now available to buy at the school reception on CD, with all proceeds to the inspirational Brainwave local charity.

Last year the school chose to cover a song but this year Alissa wrote her own and played it accompanied by Cerys Ethridge and Meghan Seabourne on backing singing and guitar and also teaming up with St Joseph’s Primary School choir.

Head of music Graeme Wright said: “Alissa has an absolutely fantastic future ahead of her.

“This song is magnificent and for a brilliant cause.

“Christmas is not always such a happy or fortunate time for others.

“At Chilton we will always use our Winter Wonders concert to raise money for charity and those in need.

“I feel it is important for children to be involved in this outreaching process.”
