WILKINS Jewellers, in Bridgwater, has joined forces with esteemed potterymakers Moorcroft to raise money for a local wildlife charity.

The fund-raiser is an opportunity for pottery collectors, enthusiasts and shoppers to view the butterfly-themed Moorcroft Somerset Collection which has been released to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Somerset Wildlife Trust.

The trio of pieces making up this collection feature three of Somerset’s most precious butterfly species – the large blue, grizzled skipper and small pearl bordered fritillary.

Emma Gill, from Somerset Wildlife Trust, said: “It is fantastic to have the opportunity to work with Moorcroft in this special year for Somerset Wildlife Trust.

“The pieces are a stunning representation of three of the county’s most precious butterfly species, and I am sure will be greatly enjoyed by art pottery collectors and wildlife enthusiasts alike.

A donation to the trust will be made with every piece that is sold on the day.

The event will be held at Wilkins Jewellers’ in Bridgwater High Street on Thursday, October 9, from 5pm to 7pm.
