BRIDGWATER Cricket Club has received a £2,000 grant from the town council to pay for new safety netting around the ground.
The grant, which was awarded by Wyndham Ward councillors Gill Slocombe and David Baker, will help allow the club to fit the netting to prevent the cricket ball leaving the ground and doing damage to neighbouring properties.
Cllr Slocombe said: “Both Cllr Baker and I decided to award this grant to the cricket club because we knew they wanted to put the netting up not only for the cricketers’ benefit but also for the safety of local residents.”
