A STUDENT at Chilton Trinity School has become one of the youngest children in the UK to achieve a 100% A* grade in an exam normally taken by 18-year-olds.

Lydia Bown got an incredible A* in her Extended Project at AS level despite only being in year 10 at the time.

The 15-year-old, who is now in year 11 at the school, wrote a 5,000 word dissertation on what she calls ‘Third Culture Kids’.

Lydia was able to draw on her own experience raised as the child of missionaries in Pakistan where she lived until she was nine.

She is now intent on a career in either marine biology or working with science and animals and is aiming to go to Oxford or Cambridge University.

Teacher Tess Hurst said: “This is an unbelievable result but Lydia is an exceptional student.

“Students much older normally are achieving grades such as this and she has a brilliant future ahead.”
