BRAVE Bridgwater dad Ross Cavanagh is taking on a charity firewalk next month.

Ross, 26, is organising a group of 20 members of the public who will attempt the fiery challenge at The Golden Ball pub in aid of the children’s cancer charity, Little Heroes.

And rather than being apprehensive about the red hot stunt, Ross, who manages the Golden Ball, is looking forward to it.

He said: “I’m really excited to be honest. I’m expecting it to hurt but hopefully the pain will be worth it.

“I’ve never done anything like this before but I thought it was a great way to raise money and awareness for the charity.”

Ross, who has a three year old daughter and a second one due in October, chose to do the firewalk for Little Heroes as he felt that more needs to be done to raise awareness and funds for children’s cancer charities.

Ross said: “Having a daughter myself, and another one on the way I just wanted to do something for a children’s charity.

“I think everyone will know someone who has been affected by cancer so it’s important to get the community together and try raise as much money and awareness as possible.”

The group aim to raise £2000 for the charity and anyone wanting to make a donation can drop into The Golden Ball to get a sponsorship form.

The firewalk will take place at The Golden Ball in High Street on Friday, October 24 at 9pm.
