AN Indian restaurant is spicing things up to help a charity which pulled out all the stops to help flood victims.

The Spice Gallery in North Petherton is holding an ‘Eat a Curry for Red Cross Week’ event on Sunday, April 27, when it will donate all profits of food sales to the British Red Cross.

The event will run from 6.30pm to 9.30 with exclusive prizes to be won from local businesses.

Hannah Darley, local fundraiser with the Red Cross, said: “It’s already been a very busy year for the Red Cross – our fire and emergency support services have been out responding to the flooding on the Somerset Levels, we had volunteers out on the ground helping stranded communities to get the food they needed and are providing hot drinks and meals for those who have been left without power.

“We wouldn’t have been able to do this without our specially-equipped vehicles and trained emergency response volunteers.

“Thanks to the generosity of the Spice Gallery, this is a perfect way to support the British Red Cross.

“Why not use this opportunity as an excuse to treat your family, or perhaps socialise with work colleagues?”

Tickets cost £20 and include a three course meal.
