A COUPLE from Bridgwater have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary at the pub where they had their engagement party.
Dorris and Dennis Watts, of Moorland Way, celebrated the occasion with family and friends at Brent Knoll's Red Cow pub.
Dorris told the Mercury: “We used to go courting at the pub. He was 15 and I was 16. We met at Weston Railway Station.”
When asked the secret to their long marriage, Dennis said: “If you don't have a bit of banter everyday it won't work.”
The couple, who still fondly tease each other today, had three girls and a boy. They have six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
