STUDENTS at Bridgwater College Academy in Sydenham will get help preparing for the world of work.

Homes in Sedgemoor are working in partnership with the academy to deliver a 'Young Apprentice’ programme helping pupils to create their own CVs, complete application forms, and develop their interview skills.

Students will be invited to a formal interview in March with a panel from Homes in Sedgemoor and Bridgwater College Academy.

The winning student will be awarded a four-week work placement at Homes in Sedgemoor and £100.

Dawn Lang, Chief Executive of Homes in Sedgemoor, said: “As an organisation we are keen to play our part to help younger people get into employment.

“This project allows us to give younger people confidence to seek work after leaving full time education.

“We look forward to welcoming the winning student into our team and hope other students are motivated to achieve their potential.”
