A NEW chapter will begin for Bridgwater Library when it unveils self-service technology and a fresh new look next week.
The library has been closed since early December for refurbishments and the new equipment to be installed, but re-opens at 9am on Monday, January 14.
Staff will help library users issue and return books, DVDs and other materials for themselves using the newly-installed self-service touch-screen kiosks.
David Hall, Somerset County Council’s cabinet member for Library Services, said: “This will be a great way for Bridgwater’s library users to start the New Year.
“There are lots of activities planned for the first week of reopening and I hope they attract some new customers as well as those already aware of what the library has to offer."
A library membership card and PIN (Personal Identification Number) is needed to use the kiosks. Ask a staff member for details or call 0845 345 9177.
