THE rains may be subsiding but officials say a small number of properties in the Northmoor area of Sedgemoor may be at significant risk of flooding from now until tomorrow evening.

Following an emergency meeting yesterday, a team of staff from Somerset County Council, Sedgemoor District Council and the Environment Agency has been created to help with an evacuation of the affected properties.

Further multi-agency meetings, including representatives from the emergency services, have been arranged to plan for any further rise in water levels.

The Environment Agency is continuing to monitor the rising water levels carefully as run-off from the hills seeps into the area.

The Met Office is not forecasting any more significant rainfall over the coming days but many other properties in the area remain at risk.
