A SEA cadet from Bridgwater has been appointed to a prestigious role in recognition of his dedication and work in the community.
Petty Officer Michael Goodwin, 17, was one of four young people to be chosen as the Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadets for the next year.
As part of his role, he will accompany Lady Gass JP on her official engagements.
His Commanding Officer said: “Michael is a highly motivated young man, who has developed into an excellent young leader.”
Michael joined the Bridgwater Sea Cadets as a Junior, aged ten, in 2005 and impressed the unit commanders. He is the most recent cadet to be advanced to the rate of Petty Officer.
He has achieved a BTEC First Diploma in Public Services and is currently working towards his Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s award.
